Wherein I Babble About Random Things

THE BOOKS HAVE GONE WIDE!

Well, at least two of them have.  The third is still waiting out its term in KU, but as soon as that's done...Woo!  So, Snowed In and Smoked Out are both available on multiple platforms now!  Including Kobo

SUPER PRETTY LINKS:

So yeah.  Check them out, if you want.  They're both still available on Amazon, of course, as paperbacks as well.

Cherry Update

I've washed, pitted, bagged and frozen...40 cups of cherries so far.  Which is approximately 10 L of them.  I'll use about 4cups/batch of whatever it is I'm making (jam or pie filling or whathaveyou), so I'll have a lot of canning to do.  Especially since I've still got another ~10L left to pit.

And apples to pick.

Speaking of jam, I used the raspberries from the garden and some blueberries from the store to make jam today.  I friggin love the colour:

Yes, I know my counter needed cleaning.  It's since been done.  And then messed up again when we started dinner.

Look at that!  Look how red it is!

Now if I could only get it to set...I might have to reprocess it tomorrow, maybe boil it down a little longer...

Book Is Still...Booking.

It's...yeah.  Got a better idea of where it's going now.  I'm hoping tomorrow I'll find out if I got that job I applied for...or not.  It's part time evenings...hopefully.  Which is going to make writing time difficult, since during the day is when I'm watching the kids, and evening is (usually) when I write...

Bleeeeeeh.

That's what I feel about that.

Anyway, see you next time...

Terrible Minds Flash Fiction Challenge - Strange Photos

Thought I'd have a go at one of these.   Challenge was to search "Strange Photos" and pick one, write 1000 (or 1146, in this case) or so words of whatever comes to mind because of it.  My dip into the 'strange photos' section of Google Images dumped me right in the lap of the Merrilyn Cryptid Museum  which is full of the apparently re-discovered remains of various mythological creatures, all preserved and displayed all scientific and stuff. Anyway, here is... dun dun dun... The Collector Photo Credit: Alex CF 2016 In the basement, the boxes lie. A rustling of parchment.  Flicker of the gas lamps.  Scratching of nib against paper.  But otherwise, silence.  And a forest of boxes. The man at the desk put down his pen and blotted the ink.  He surveyed his handiwork, double checking for mistakes.  There were none, so he spread a layer of paste in the appropriate space and pressed the label into it: Homomimus ...

Book Two Is Live!

It's here!  It's live!  The explosive follow up to my first novel, Snowed In , is now on Kindle Unlimited! Here's the blurb: Freedom and a fresh start; that's all Lisa Hamilton wanted when she came to Olsson's Pass. She got a lot more than that. Mystery, murder – and a smoldering police chief – were all part of the package. Danger too, because not only must she battle her own demons, but there are real monsters lurking in the woods and people are dying. Tourists and bugs are about all Washington Jones had to look forward to in a Rocky Mountain summer. Until someone starts to turn up the heat by killing a couple locals and blaming it on the Valley's only wolf. If that wasn't stressful enough, now that there's a smoking hot biologist come to town, Wash finds himself smitten, and fast. The town has turned into a powder keg, and all that it'll take to ignite it is a spark... I hope you guys enjoy this one!

Photo Friday

Oops...almost forgot to do this ;) I took this one because of the colours.  There was a campfire going and stuff, but I've always loved trees against a sky this colour...super soothing. This is the end of a hiking trail.  Trees have been beset by goddamn pine beetles, which is why they're so red.  There was a storm blowing over, which is why the sky was so dark, and perfect lighting elsewhere... There's another trail a few meters to the "left" of this pic that has been closed all summer due to bear activity.  Fun times. Hope you enjoyed!
